This example will help you see what that looks like in practice. It would’ve been the Duke of Edinburgh’s 100th birthday today. Of all the press I read about him recently, this simple nudge he devised stuck in my brain. Apparently he changed the speed signs in Windsor Great Park. Instead of the standard 40, they show 38 mph. It’s a great example of a differentiator. Precisely because it’s non-standard, it’s hard to ignore and more people comply. And it’s memorable. 💭 Something to think about. (Then your closing words, but we’ll cover that another time ...) ⁠⠀ Mostly we don't like to think we judge things or people on first impressions. But we all do it. ALL THE TIME.   • Here’s a quick way to increase interest in your business on social media. A snappy library of stories is one of the most useful resources you can have. Founder bio, origin story, elevator pitch. Here’s the problem with those short, snappy stories. Ask any writer - the shorter the message, the harder it is to write.   • One way to encourage lightbulb moments in your business. Learned about some science behind lightbulb moments recently, and it’s surprisingly literal. From reading “Drunk Tank Pink’ by Adam Alter, I discovered that people performed more creatively on a task AFTER they’d been exposed to the image of a lightbulb. Some symbols prime a response in our brains. One of those is the lightbulb. Because we associate them with bright ideas, we can persuade our brains to work more creatively just by seeing one. 💡 My takeaway for you creativity chasers - creativity and insight isn’t fixed.   • Do you ever leave bad reviews? I’m asking because I delivered a workshop on trust & social proof last week. Knowing how important they are, I’m reluctant to leave bad reviews unless the product/service is exceptional, in an awful way. Kind of a marketer’s dilemma. Case in point - I bought an item from a clothing company recently that was really poorly made (at high-end high street price). I love this brand and have never been disappointed by them before. I’ve returned it for a refund but they keep emailing me for a review. I ALWAYS read reviews before I buy online. 🤔So should I leave the poor but honest review? Or just let it go?
